July 27 2025 The Monterey Amberjacks defeated the Bakersfield Train Robbers 8-2, scoring in five of the first seven innings and finishing with 11 hits. Monterey took an early 1-0 lead in the first inning, added another run in the second and extended the advantage with two runs in the third. After Bakersfield scored twice in the fourth, Monterey answered with two runs in the bottom half and added single runs in the fifth and seventh innings.

Oswaldo Caldera led Monterey with two hits and three RBIs. Ivan Verdugo, Tyler Toland, Trenton Avitia and Diego Fernandez also drove in runs, while Alex Elliott and Ramiro Reyna each collected two hits. Greg Salazar contributed at the plate with a hit, two runs and a walk.

Salazar earned the win with a complete-game performance, allowing six hits and two runs, including two earned, while striking out 11 and walking two. Bakersfield starter Jacob Perez took the loss after allowing eight hits and seven runs in five innings, with five earned runs, four walks and six strikeouts. Josiah Bowles and Cook C. combined to complete the game for Bakersfield.

July 26 2025 The Monterey Amberjacks defeated the Vallejo Seaweed 6-2 after scoring five runs in the fifth inning to break open a 1-1 game. Monterey outhit Vallejo 10-8 and held the Seaweed to one run in each of the fourth and sixth innings.

Nick Samudio delivered a complete-game performance for Monterey, allowing eight hits and two earned runs while walking two and striking out 14. Samudio also contributed at the plate with a double and an RBI. Matt Lazcano took the loss for Vallejo after allowing six hits and five earned runs in 4.1 innings.

Montereys offense was led by Luis Medina, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and an RBI, while Ivan Verdugo added a hit, a run and an RBI. Diego Fernandez drove in a run, and Trenton Avitia collected two hits, including a triple. Vallejos Bryce Hayman went 3-for-4 with two runs, an RBI and a home run, and Aaron Harper added two hits.

Jared Greer earned the win after allowing two hits and one earned run in eight innings. He struck out four and walked seven. Monterey scored once in the second and once in the eighth.

Kyle Guerra led the Pacifics with three hits, three RBI and a run scored. Aki Buckson went 3-for-4 with two walks and scored three times, while Payton Rios collected two hits and scored twice. Chris Wright and Mark Hernandez each had two hits, with Hernandez driving in two runs. Guerra, Wright and Hernandez each recorded two doubles. Monterey was paced by Ivan Verdugo, who went 2-for-3 with a walk, and Luis Medina, who had a hit and a walk.

Antoine Valerio earned the win after allowing three hits and one run over four innings with five strikeouts and three walks. Monterey took a 2-0 lead with single runs in the second and fifth innings. Bakersfield answered with three runs in the sixth and four more in the seventh to move ahead 7-2. Monterey scored three times in the eighth, but Bakersfield held on for the victory.

Emilio Luna went 2-for-4 with two runs for Bakersfield, while Ashanti Ross added two hits, a walk and an RBI. Jumpei Ohashi drove in two runs, and Ryan Anderson contributed an RBI. Monterey’s Manuel Alvarez went 2-for-4 with two RBIs, and Ethan Martinez had a hit and an RBI.

July 22 2025 The Bakersfield Train Robbers rallied for two runs in the ninth inning to defeat the Monterey Amberjacks 5-4 at Sam Lynn Ballpark. Bakersfield collected 14 hits and overcame a 4-3 deficit entering the final inning while Monterey finished with five hits and three errors.

Monterey scored twice in the third and twice in the fourth. Luis Medina went 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI while Jason Hartwick doubled and drove in a run. Oswaldo Caldera and Alex Elliott also recorded RBIs for the Amberjacks.

Bakersfield answered with single runs in the second fifth and sixth innings before taking the lead in the ninth. Ashanti Ross and Jumpei Ohashi each had two hits and Ryan Anderson went 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI. Luke Eskew added two hits and an RBI while Tyler McKenna delivered two RBIs.

Jack Martin earned the win for Bakersfield after throwing two scoreless innings with five strikeouts. Nick Danbrowney struck out nine in five innings but allowed four runs and took a no-decision. Monterey scored twice in the first inning, added three runs in the second and pushed across two more in the fifth before scoring six in the sixth. Bakersfield answered with three runs in the second, one in the fourth, three in the fifth and five in the sixth before breaking the game open with its 12-run seventh inning.

Jared Gay led Bakersfield with three hits, four RBI and a home run. Jumpei Ohashi added three hits and three RBI, while Joe Starick drove in two runs and Joe Riddle scored three times with two RBI. Emilio Luna had three hits and three runs for the Train Robbers.

Bakersfield added a run in the fifth and two more in the ninth.

Jared Gay led Bakersfield with a 2-for-4 performance that included a home run, four RBI and two runs scored. Joe Riddle went 2-for-5 with three RBI, while Jumpei Ohashi and Emilio Luna each recorded two hits. Riddle also delivered the winning pitching performance.

Riddle allowed eight hits and three earned runs in five innings while striking out seven and walking three. Josiah Bowles followed with three scoreless innings, allowing one hit and striking out five, and Jayden Metz completed the shutout relief effort with two strikeouts in a scoreless ninth. Monterey starter Nick Samudio took the loss after allowing six runs, five earned, on eight hits in eight innings while striking out eight.

Monterey built an early 2-1 lead in the first inning and added another run in the second before breaking the game open with a three-run sixth. Vallejo scored twice in the ninth but could not complete the comeback. Monterey also scored three times in the ninth to finish with eight runs.

Alex Elliott led Monterey with four hits in five at-bats and drove in one run. Luis Medina and Tyler Toland each had two hits while Toland scored three runs and added an RBI. Ramiro Reyna went 3-for-3 with two RBIs, and Trenton Avitia and Oswaldo Caldera also drove in runs.

Martinez collected 12 hits, with Harrison Treble, Tyler Best, Sam Freedman, Andrew Curran and Tanner Graham each recording two. The Monterey Amberjacks 2025 Field

The Monterey Amberjacks 2025 Field Manager will be Manny Corpas. Manny pitched in the major leagues for 10 years and most known for being the Colorado Rockies Closer on their 2007 World Series Run.

He was selected Panama national baseball team at the 2006 World Baseball Classic, 2009 World Baseball Classic, 2013 World Baseball Classic Qualification, 2017 World Baseball Classic Qualification and 2019 Pan American Games Qualifier. Manny is no stranger to the Pecos League as he has pitched for the Bakersfield Train Robbers in 2019 and 2021. He pitched complete games in the playoffs both seasons. He managed the Martinez Sturgeon in 2022.
