Amberjacks Rally Past Leprechauns 8-5

June 30 2023 The Monterey Amberjacks defeated the Dublin Leprechauns 8-5 after scoring four runs in the first inning and adding another in the second. Dublin answered with four runs in the third, but Monterey regained control with a three-run eighth inning and held Dublin scoreless in the ninth.

Chaison Miklich delivered the key offensive performance for Monterey, going 1-for-3 with a home run, two runs scored and four RBI. Joshua Rodriguez added a double and two RBI, while Hiroki Goke contributed a hit and two RBI. Gabriel Murillo had two hits and three walks, and Tristan Cavazos scored once and collected one hit.

Dublin finished with nine hits. Kyler LeRoux and Josue Rivera each had two hits, while Albert Dominguez went 2-for-3 with a double, a home run, one run scored and two RBI. Rivera also drove in a run.

Greg Salazar earned the win for Monterey after allowing nine hits and five earned runs in eight innings. He walked none and struck out 11. Dominic Scotti recorded the save with a scoreless ninth inning and one strikeout. Dublin starter Meltavis Robertson worked seven innings, allowing six hits and five runs, four earned, with eight walks and seven strikeouts. Mike Rios took the loss after allowing three runs in one inning.
