August 1 2022 The Santa Rosa Scuba Divers scored eight runs in the first inning and held on for an 11-9 victory over the Monterey Amberjacks at Doyle Park. Santa Rosa added two runs in the third and one in the sixth, while Monterey mounted its comeback with three runs in the seventh, two in the eighth and two in the ninth. Santa Rosa finished with 10 hits and no errors, while Monterey collected 13 hits and committed five errors.
Christopher Procopio led Santa Rosa with two hits, including a home run, and three RBI. Nick Smith and Calvin Cromwell each added two hits, with Cromwell driving in two runs. Jose Romero contributed one RBI, and Santa Rosa stole three bases in the game.
Monterey’s Braden Flaherty went 4-for-5 with two RBI, while Cody Stevenson had two hits and scored twice. Braden Scrivner added two hits and two RBI, and Caleb Rosario drove in a run while drawing two walks. Monterey also received RBI from Brenden Spaulding and Lucas Sherman.
Angel Chavez earned the win for Santa Rosa after allowing 10 hits and five earned runs in 6.2 innings, with four strikeouts and three walks. Sean Holt recorded the save with a scoreless ninth inning, allowing one hit while striking out two. Kyasuke Sakai took the loss for Monterey after recording one out and allowing eight runs, six earned, on three hits and four walks.
