Monterey Amberjacks Defeat Bakersfield Train Robbers 3-1

July 3 2022 The Monterey Amberjacks defeated the Bakersfield Train Robbers 3-1 behind a complete-game performance from Ethan McRae. Monterey improved to 21-29 while Bakersfield fell to 31-18.

McRae allowed three hits and one earned run over nine innings, striking out seven without issuing a walk. He also contributed at the plate with three hits and two RBI. Hunter Harris went 2-for-4 and scored once for Monterey, which finished with 11 hits.

Bakersfield scored in the first inning on a solo home run by John Daly, who finished 1-for-3 with an RBI. Monterey answered with one run in the fifth, one in the sixth and one in the eighth. Cody Stevenson had a hit and an RBI, while the Amberjacks also received a run-scoring contribution from McRae. Jonny Damon took the loss after allowing 11 hits and three earned runs in eight innings while striking out five.
